Some Twisted Science: Hojo's Sick Mind

Hojo was a special breed of madman; he had a knack for science, and he knew how to use it for his own ends. He was a disturbed little boy, making all manner of simple clockwork machines designed for purposes ranging from capturing animals for him to dissect to doing the dissection for him. His favorite, though, was one which he managed to make look like a small, cute little animal in frame, and upon clothing it with fur, crafted it into a perfect device with which to capture girls.

He wasn't the rapist type; oh, the girls wish that he were with what he did to them. A dark, twisted imagination is what fueled Hojo, and he took it out on these poor, defenseless little ladies... the less said about them, the better. But let us just say that when he got through, their parents would never have been able to identify that the body was their child. Much less it was once a human. Or even alive, in some cases.

Hojo was brilliant, but the twisted mind destroyed any bright future he may have had. Or rather, in any sane universe he wouldn't have made it beyond prison, locked up with the guys who wanted to make suits out of the skin of women. But the universe he lived in wasn't very sane; it was almost deranged at times. In one of those deranged moments, Hojo not only managed to get into proper science, but he excelled at it. He quickly rose through the ranks of academia; it was almost obscene how quickly he became well know and recognized amongst his peers.

In sad irony, he came under the employ of a scientist that was his superior in everything except intelligence. Hojo detested his boss, yes... but he needed the old man. For the old man, he had something rare and precious. He had an Ancient.

Oh, Hojo wanted that pretty woman; she was so rare that he just wanted to pull her apart, see how she ticked. But his boss, oh; he loved the woman. He wouldn't let Hojo get near her, no matter how he tried. But Hojo, he was swift in mind, as swift as he was deranged; he had a plan. It took him a while to get it rolling, what with the barren, frozen over pit that they were working in, almost near the northern most pole of the planet, but he did it.

ShinRa was very interested in what the two had found at the furthest reaches of the world; so much more because they were never told about it. They sent troops at once, of course; promises of raises and the like thrown at Hojo. But he didn't care; he wanted the woman! And that's what he got, but there was something else as well.

A baby. Oh yes, a baby had been born between that man and his woman. When he stormed the house with the troops of ShinRa, he knew that things would end badly; but all that happened was the death of the man. Hojo got all the research, he got the woman and her child; he got what he wanted. And on top of that he got money, a research lab of the highest order and all the time he wanted to seek his own means without somebody looking over his shoulder.

He had plans for the woman and her little girl... oh yes, plans indeed. But those plans, they were foiled; the woman managed to escape somehow. Hojo hadn't made any mistakes in locking down their pens; it was somebody on the inside that had to have done it! But that didn't get him two two back, no... the two were gone and even with ShinRa behind him, he couldn't find them.

The two were lost to him; he had no idea if they were alive or not. But slowly he began to not care much, he moved to his next project. And then the next project. Soon the two were out of his mind, even if they weren't out of ShinRa's. But it didn't matter; so long as he gave them results they were happy. Like the results of finding the traitor, of extracting the confession, of modifying his body, his mind. That sample, a biological weapon... oh dear, but it was worthless to him, even if ShinRa loved it.

The years passed, he did more and more; people vanished but ShinRa turned a blind eye. Hojo send the troops out to get new samples; ShinRa turned a blind eye. Even when the child of that woman was once more caught and handed over to Hojo, they turned a blind eye to his dark designs and intentions.

Oh, he was going to enjoy the coming day...
