Valis I, Part II: Sword Of Valis

Yuko shot up in her bed, a deep and cold sweat covering her body. Her hands grasped her sheets, if her nails were a little longer and sharper she'd most likely have shredded them. She trembled, eyes darting around the her bedroom as if trying to ensure that she was alone... that the demon wasn't there.

The room was silent and peaceful, the only noises were her heavy breathing and the sound of birds chirping.

Finally after several long moments she calmed down, fully assured that it was just a nightmare. It felt so very real, like she was actually living through it, and yet... she rarely had nightmares, much less ones regarding demons. She'd also never had a dream so vivid, to the point where she could feel the wind, the heat of the sun on her body... her stomach turning into a knot as she was about to "die".

She wiped some sweat from her forehead and rubbed her face; even if it was a nightmare and she was safe in her room she still felt uneasy, perhaps a little jumpy. this was confirmed when a knock came at her door and she nearly jumped out of bed, yelping.

"Yuko, are you alright in there?"

It was her mother's voice. She took a few deep breath's to try and calm herself again.

"Yes, I'm fine."

She called back, trying to sound calm and relaxed even though her heart was still racing.

"If you say so... but anyway, if you don't hurry you're going to be late for school."

Yuko looked at her clock upon hearing that; it was already past 7 AM. Instantly she sprang from her bed, cursing herself for forgetting to actually turn her alarm on. She scrambled to get her uniform, hoping that she'd atleast have time to have a quick shower; the nightmare and unease had suddenly become the last thing on her mind.
